ObamaCare Hits Hospitals

The American Hospital Association (AHA) and four hospital systems are suing the Obama Administration for denying payments for admitting Medicare patients to hospitals.

This is part of the rationing of health care for seniors that was mandated by Obamacare. Government auditors will judge whether hospitals should have admitted Medicare patients or arranged their care on an outpatient basis.

If an auditor decides that a hospital didn’t need to admit a Medicare patient, the hospital has to return the money it received for that patient’s care. This alone could cause hospitals to close or refuse to deal with Medicare patients, both of which will greatly limit access to medical care for seniors.

Medicare is too expensive and must be reformed. It is the major reason for our mind blasting deficit But this can be done without these kinds of outrageous rationing techniques.( see the Ryan Plan, now in the shredder with Obama’s victory).
