The Federal Reserve Continues to Harm the American Economy.

Wednesday, April 27th, 2011

Despite the pronouncements of many prominent economists, Ben Bernanke, the Chairman of the Federal Reserve continues to keep short term interest rates at 0-1/4% in an effort to “stimulate” the economy, which it clearly isn’t doing. And he’s also harming the economy by printing money, pushing our economy (and many overseas economies) into a terrible inflationary cycle, e.g.––– the rapid increase in gasoline prices at the pump are due to the rapidly decreasing value of the dollar. Whose destructive ideas are these? Bernanke? Obama?Geithner? Soros? Or all four?

My Birth Certificate or How I Prefer To Answer Trump Rather Than Paul Ryan

Wednesday, April 27th, 2011

Barack Obama released his “long form” birth certificate on 4/27/11 and mocked and patronized the American people who allowed this “distraction” to fester on for more than two years “interfering” with the need to address the “important issues” of the day.
Well, Mr. President.––– it was YOU who allowed this “distraction” to continue on and on. Why didn’t YOU produce this document when the question of your birthplace first arose? Why did YOU spend thousands (or perhaps millions) of dollars to keep this question alive? To mock and patronize? Probably. And to ridicule “carnival barkers” (did you mean that clown, Donald Trump?”) who re-ignited this nonsense? Once more, Mr. President, you have demonstrated your disdain for the American people ––– all American people ––– whom you are supposed to be representing. And why have you responded to a challenge by a clown (Trump) rather than debate a serious American, Paul Ryan, who is trying to respond with a plan to aid our ailing economy, and whom you have denigrated and refused to speak with in a serious fashion.

World Demographics

Wednesday, April 27th, 2011

While we slept, the following little demographic item was announced. The world’s Muslim population will likely increase by 35% in the next 20 years going from 1.6 billion to 2.2 billion. This is the result of a study by the Pew Research Center Forum on Religion and Public Life.       (The full study can be found at: http://pewforum.org/The-Future-of-the Global–Muslim–Population.aspx)
The study predicts that Muslims will increase at about twice the rate of non-Muslims annually at a  rate of 1.5% as compared to 0.7% for non-Muslims. If this rate continues, Muslims will make up 26.4% of the worlds total population projected to be 8.3 billion in 2030, up from 23.4% of the 2010 world population of approximately 6.9 billion. However, the Muslim growth is expected to grow at a slower pace in the next 20 years than it did in the previous two decades.
How will Western society come to grips with this reality? Go the way of Europe and the UK and see their countries overrun with Muslims? Allow sharia law to sit side-by-side with national laws? Impose strict anti-immigration laws against Muslims? Or wage total war against those Muslim countries that hate us and want to destroy us? (Iran? Syria? Muslim terrorist groups?). Or try to mount a genuine effort to lift up the struggling masses of Islam financially, educationally, and politically and thus provide a template for a renaissance similar to that which began in the West 5-600 years ago? I wonder what the West will choose during the next critical decades.

To quote T. S. Eliot in The Wasteland, “April is the cruelest month . . .” Yes it is. A mixture of some minor illnesses and my determination to finally finish my latest novel, “Donovan’s Run” (I’ve been writing it since mid-2008) have caused me to neglect my blog ––– a terrible month to do so while the “Political Follies” and other events cavort across the American landscape. So, let’s look at some of these that follow.
