Anonymous vs ISIS. Battle in cyberspace.

Saturday, November 21st, 2015

Here is a bit of news that might be quite important about our future battle against terrorists. It looks as if a group of sophisticated hackers have declared war on the ISIS communication system. The following is an early report about this cyber battle.

ISIS Calls Anonymous “Idiots,” Offers Tips To Elude Hackers
by Carrie Mihalcik
Nov. 17, 2015

ISIS, the Islamic militant group that claimed responsibility
for the deadly Paris attacks, appears unfazed by threats of
cyber attacks from hacking collective called Anonymous.
In a message circulated via encrypted messaging app, Telegram, an account allegedly linked to ISIS called Anonymous “idiots” and offered tips to avoid being hacked by the group. The message, which was posted in English and Arabic, was forwarded to multiple ISIS-affiliated Telegram channels, according to Business Insider.
Anonymous, a loosely affiliated group of Internet users who hack websites and spread leaked information, on Sunday vowed to launch “massive cyberattacks” against ISIS following the brutal terrorist attacks in Paris on Friday. ISIS, or the Islamic State in Iraq and Syria, claimed responsibility for the attacks, which left more than 120 dead and hundreds more wounded. Anonymous said in a series of tweets and a YouTube video that it wants to force ISIS into Internet obscurity. The online back-and-forth between ISIS and Anonymous underscores the changing nature of modern conflicts, as terrorism, and the fight against it,spreads to the Internet. ISIS in particular is known for using the Internet and
social media to recruit new members and to broadcast chilling images of executions and other violence. In its warning message, ISIS gave supporters a handful of tips to avoid being hacked by Anonymous. The group warned against opening links from untrusted sources and talking to unknown people on Telegram. Supporters were also told to avoid direct messages on Twitter. The message also said supporters should use a VPN, or virtual private network, which can create a secure “tunnel” for Web browsing, so all data sent to and from a browser is encrypted.

Hillary Clinton “Often Confused”

Saturday, November 21st, 2015

And finally, does anyone in their right mind want Hillary Clinton as our next president? Just read this chilling report.

Judicial Watch:
Email Reveals Top Aide Huma Abedin Warning State Department Staffer That Hillary Clinton Is “Often Confused”

NOVEMBER 16, 2015

Judicial Watch today released more than 35 pages of emails former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton’s top aide Huma Abedin revealing that Abedin advised Clinton aide and frequent companion Monica Hanley that it was “very important” to go over phone calls with Clinton because the former Secretary of State was “often confused.” The emails, from Abedin’s “Huma@clintonemail.com” address, also reveal repeated security breaches, with the Secretary’s schedule and movements being sent and received through Abedin’s non-governmental and unsecured Clinton server account. The emails document requests for special State Department treatment for a Clinton Foundation associate and Abedin’s mother, a controversial Islamist leader.

The Abedin email material contains a January 26, 2013, email exchange with Clinton aide Monica Hanley regarding Clinton’s schedule in which Abedin says Clinton is “often confused:”

Abedin: Have you been going over her calls with her? So she knows singh is at 8? [India Prime Minister Manmohan Singh]
Hanley: She was in bed for a nap by the time I heard that she had an 8am call. Will go over with her
Abedin: Very imp to do that. She’s often confused.

The newly released Abedin emails included a lengthy exchange giving precise details of the Clinton schedule on the Secretary’s final full day in office, Wednesday, January 31, 2013. The email from Lona J. Valmoro, former Special Assistant to Secretary of State Clinton, to Abedin, other top State Department staff, and Clinton associates, reveals exact times (including driving times) and locations of all appointments throughout the day:

8:25 am DEPART Private Residence

En route to State Department

[drive time: 10 minutes]

***

1:40 pm DEPART State Department

En route to Council on Foreign Relations

[drive time: 15 minutes]

***

3:05 pm DEPART Council on Foreign Relations

En route to State Department

[drive time: 15 minutes]

***

6:00 pm DEPART State Department

En route to Private Residence

[drive time: 5 minutes]

The detailed schedule provided in the Abedin email contains an annotation reading: “The information contained in this email is not to be shared, forwarded or duplicated.”

Another Abedin email provides details about a meeting with Saudi Arabia’s leadership.

The Abedin correspondence includes several instances in which the Clinton top aide attempted to obtain special treatment from the State Department for business associates and relatives. In the first instance, Abedin apparently worked with Teneo co-founder and Clinton Global Initiative official Doug Band to intercede on behalf of an individual seeking a visa. In the second instance, Huma Abedin received an email from her mother, Saleha Abedin (a controversial Islamist activist) who founded and serves as dean at Dar al-Hekma University in Saudi Arabia. In the December 11, 2011, email, Saleha Abedin seeks the assistance of her daughter to help the president of her college, Dr. Suhair al Qurashi, attend a State Department “Women in Public Service” ceremony, which included remarks by Hillary Clinton. (Mrs. Clinton spoke at Dar al-Hekma University in 2010. Dr. Qurashi and Saleha Abedin introduced Mrs. Clinton’s speech and moderated the subsequent discussion.)

“Huma Abedin’s description of Hillary Clinton as ‘easily confused’ tells you all you need to know why it took a federal lawsuit to get these government emails from Clinton’s illegal email server ,” said Judicial Watch President Tom Fitton. “These emails also show that Hillary Clinton’s and Huma Abedin’s decision to use the Clinton email server to conduct government business was dangerous and risky.”

The documents were obtained by Judicial Watch on October 30, 2015, in response to a June 5 Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) lawsuit filed against the State Department, after it failed to respond to a March 18 FOIA request seeking:

Emails of official State Department business received or sent by former Deputy Chief of Staff Huma Abedin from January 1, 2009 through February 1, 2013 using a non-“state.gov” email address.

ISIS Terrorist Released in Plea Deal Months Ago in Illinois

Saturday, November 21st, 2015

Among the many ISIS probes being performed by the FBI and other security arms, this one is among the most disturbing. This terrorist is still on the run and illustrates why we can’t close Guantanomo Bay and bring these enemies of the United States to our shores as Obama wishes to do.

NOVEMBER 16, 2015

The Paris terrorist attacks bring to mind the frightening case of an Islamic State of Iraq and Syria (ISIS) operative arrested in Chicago last fall and released earlier this year to serve probation in Illinois for a state crime that secretly drew federal intervention.

His name is Emad Karakrah, the ringleader of a sophisticated narco-terror operation and the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) facilitated his release from Cook County Jail in January. Judicial Watch uncovered Karakrah’s terrorism record and has reported extensively on his extremist activities, including a 2009 plot to bomb talk-show host Oprah Winfrey’s Chicago studios and the iconic Sears Tower. In late August of last year Karakrah was arrested after leading police on a high-speed chase through Chicago streets as an ISIS flag waved from his car. When Chicago Police finally stopped and arrested Karakrah, he told officers his car was rigged with explosives that would detonate if searched. Bomb disposal units secured the vehicle without incident, but Karakrah’s arrest helped expose a narco-terrorist network with roots and financing in El Paso, Texas.

Karakrah is a logistics and transportation operative for militant Islamists in the United States, according to high-level law enforcement sources. He moves people, weapons, explosives, drugs, money, and other materiel to terrorist cells operating in Chicago, Brooklyn, New York and Saddle Brook, New Jersey, among other locations across the United States. More than a decade ago Karakrah smuggled drugs and weapons for the Juarez drug cartel in Mexico. In July of 2014, he was on a supply run to a militant Islamist cell operating out of a basement in Brooklyn, law enforcement sources told Judicial Watch. Before moving to Chicago sometime in 2011, Karakrah lived in Anthony, New Mexico and a suburb of El Paso. His ex-wife and two children remain in the El Paso area. In 1999 Karakrah pleaded guilty to felony “Criminal Sexual Penetration of a Child, Ages 13-16” as well as a related conspiracy charge, according to public records. Law enforcement sources characterize Karakrah as a “dangerous, crazy thug.”

At some point, Karakrah reportedly became a confidential informant for the FBI, but he went rogue and broke contact with his bureau handlers. This appears to be the reason that the FBI got involved in his recent state case, which Judicial Watch has covered thoroughly. Legal proceedings against Karakrah in Chicago were delayed at least twice because of FBI “equities,” sources close to the case confirmed. An FBI agent was present during Karakrah’s proceedings in Cook County Court and the agency facilitated his release. Records obtained by JW show that his probation was shifted from Chicago to Decatur, but local officials have been uncooperative disclosing his whereabouts, possibly because they don’t know or have been ordered by the feds to keep quiet. Karakrah’s last address is an apartment in Chicago, according to public records.

What we do know for sure is that Karakrah is dangerous and so are his business associates, which include two of the FBI’s “most wanted” terrorists, Jaber A. Elbaneh and Adnan Gulshair el Shukrijumah (a/k/a: “Javier Robles”). In December, 2014 Shukrijumah was killed in a Pakistani Army raid in the northwestern territory of Pakistan. Another key associate, Hector Pedroza Huerta, is a twice-deported illegal immigrant who has been convicted of driving under the influence three times. After getting arrested for his third DUI last year in El Paso, Huerta received a sweat heart plea deal of 15 months with no deportation or supervised release. His court record has been restricted so details of his arrangement with the feds are not available to the public.

FBI Has Nearly 1,000 Active ISIS Probes Inside U.S.

Saturday, November 21st, 2015

Judicial Watch
NOVEMBER 13, 2015

The Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) has nearly 1,000 active probes involving the terrorist group Islamic State of Iraq and Syria (ISIS) inside the United States, dozens of law enforcement officials disclose in a letter to President Obama.

The officials are elected sheriffs in Colorado making a case against the administration’s plan to transfer terrorists held at the U.S. military prison in Guantanamo Bay, Cuba to facilities in the state. Forty-one of Colorado’s elected sheriffs fired off the letter after two federal prisons in Florence (Supermax and the U.S. Penitentiary) along with a state complex near Canon City were reviewed by the Pentagon for the potential transfer. The plan is part of the president’s longtime promise to close the top-security compound at the U.S. Naval base in southeast Cuba.

The big question is what will the government do with the remaining captives, indisputably the world’s most dangerous terrorists? Just a few weeks ago Obama’s Defense Secretary said that around half of the remaining 112 prisoners at Gitmo must be locked up “indefinitely.” They include 9/11 masterminds Khalid Sheikh Mohammed (KSM), Ramzi Binalshibh, Ali Abdul Aziz Ali and Mustafa Ahmed Adam al Hawsawi as well as Abd al-Rahim al-Nashiri, the Al-Qaeda terrorist charged with orchestrating the 2000 attack on the Navy destroyer USS Cole.

The administration has considered relocating the captives to military facilities in the U.S., including Ft. Leavenworth in Kansas and the Navy Brig in Charleston, South Carolina. This has ignited outrage among officials in both states. Kansas Senator Pat Roberts was quick to say “not on my watch will any terrorists be placed in Kansas.” Roberts also co-authored a mainstream newspaper op-ed with South Carolina Senator Tim Scott vehemently rejecting the idea. “The notion that Kansas, South Carolina or any other state would be an ideal home for terrorist detainees is preposterous,” the piece reads. “Transferring these prisoners to the mainland puts the well-being of states in danger, posing security risks to the public and wasting taxpayer dollars. The detention facilities at Guantanamo are doing a fantastic job of holding these terrorists.” The governors of both states—Nikki Haley of South Carolina and Sam Brownback of Kansas—have also vowed to take any action in their power to stop the transfers, including suing the federal government.

Now Colorado is striking back for making the Pentagon’s shortlist. In their letter to the White House, the state’s sheriffs say the ill-conceived plan to transfer dangerous foreign enemy combatants to civilian prisons puts their citizens at risk. “We recently learned that the FBI has almost 1,000 active ISIS investigations taking place inside the borders of the United States,” the letter states. “We believe it would be dangerously naive not to recognize that a civilian prison with an untold number of enemy combatant inmates, located in our state, would provide a very tempting target for anyone wishing to either free these detainees or simply wishing to make a political statement.”

The cops cite repeated examples around the globe of coordinated, violent attacks against prisons holding radical Islamic militants. “We strongly protest actions that might well add our sate to the list of locations where such deadly attacks have occurred,” they write. Another big concern is transporting the terrorists across many counties from the facilities under consideration to the federal district courts or federal court of appeals in Denver, creating “many safety and security threats” to communities that must be addressed by local sheriffs.

“In the 1990s, we experienced the dangers and threats to our capital city, Denver, when two domestic terrorists, Timothy McVeigh and Terry Nichols, were tried there,” the letter to Obama says. “Security during that trial was unprecedented. We can only imagine the disruptions and dangers throughout our state if enemy combatants from Guantanamo Bay were routinely transported from Canon City to the heart of our capital city of Denver.”

Mastermind terrorist travels through Europe undetected

Paris mastermind boasted of freely crossing Europe’s borders
Washington Examiner 11/17/2015

Abdelhamid Abaaoud, the 27-year-old mastermind of the Paris massacres, has bragged about shuttling between Syria and Europe, exploiting the migrant crisis on European Union borders. He recruited two brothers he had known since childhood to carry out Friday’s murders of 129 people and told an Islamic State magazine he had easily evaded Western security. “So they gathered intelligence agents from all over the world …. I was able to leave and come to Syria.”

But fortunately, he was killed in a shoot-out with French police on11/18/15. Nevertheless, this story of free, undetected travel through Europe to-and-from Syria is chilling and will need to be dealt with if future terrorist strikes are to be avoided.
