The Democrats are in the process of cutting poor Paul Ryan up into tiny bits of right wing offal. Lead, of course, by the usual suspects: Al Sharpton and Jesse Jackson, and coming up the rear multiple Democrats in the House and Senate. They have accused Paul Ryan of racism because he had the temerity to say that a significant part of the culture of the inner cities appears to consist of many men deciding not to work, not to get married, often leaving multiple pregnant mothers of their soon-to-be-born children to fend for themselves. The word culture. That’s it. That’s more important than anything else since it encompasses everything important that we are as a people. Hey, “ain’t” that grand? Paul Ryan is a racist for saying it “ain’t” what America used to be and that it was bad for all those inner-city folks to have children out of wedlock, no fathers in the home, increasing dependency on the federal government rather than on the values of work.
But Ryan Is right. No, it’s not grand, and who suffers? 80% or more of those who live in the inner city ––– Blacks, Whites, Hispanics, Asians ––– they want a better life for themselves and their kids. They want the culture to change. They want to work, move up economically, have their kids go to safe schools that teach ––– not serve as places of gang terror. These 80%ers want their sons and daughters to grow up and access the American dream as I did and many of my generation.
Who created the mess? This was a result of the “Great Society” programs that destroyed the black family structure and handed over the same sort of rot to the immigrants that flooded in during the last half of the 20th century.
“Tough love” is very “tough” to achieve, but the only way to put us back on a road to prosperity for all. We need leaders on the national and state and local levels who understand how difficult the task will be.We need a new Congress, and for heavens sake, a new president, to help lead us out of our domestic mess and our foreign policy debacles. “Tough love” for everyone! It will require efforts from all of us. We all need to hurt a little bit or a lot, to sacrifice a little or a lot, to right the ship.It will be tough to do whether we live in the inner city or the suburbs, in penthouses and mansions or in row houses and tiny apartments. Tough love isn’t easy ––– but Americans have to do it to reverse our descent into hell. TO BRING BACK AMERICA!
So I’m back and that’s my rant for today. Tell me what you think.
